Rotary Club of Karrinyup

It is the end of an era of sorts for the Rotary Club of Karrinyup (District 9455)
for we have been meeting the Gleneagles Tavern,
Hamersley Public Golf Course for the better part of 20 years.
Tonight however was our last meeting at this lovely venue
 - with friendly staff and set in a beautiful spot;
We will begin April at our new venue - the Carine Glades Tavern.

It was time to say goodbye to the lovely ladies
who have looked after us so well for the past few years.

 Pictured here with President Carolyn,
the girls received a token of our appreciation

for their hard work and smiling faces!

Past President Peter welcomes Maureen (left) and Jenny (right)
from Southern Cross Kenya Aid to Educate
and Jacky from Syros, Greece to our club meeting.

Rotary Club of Osborne Park

On behalf of Osborne Park Rotary i wish to thank you
and your friends for an excellent result.
We were able to fully packed a 40 ft Container with 25 beds
, mattresses and 10 Anaesthetic Machines and a C Arm
plus a variety of supporting and assorting medical equipment.
It was our best effort to date and I have never seen a container
 jammed packed so expertly before.
The Container should be shipped to Freo on Wednesday,
depart Freo on Sat and make Cambodia 2 weeks later.
So once again a huge thanks
Yours in Rotary
Pip Asphar

The Gallipoli 100 is to be a surfboat race featuring surfboats
manned by Australian, New Zealand and Turkish crews
held on 22 and 23 April 2015 from Eceabat (SL Kilitbahir - Çanakkale)
 to North Beach (FL Ariburnu).
There were many life savers and future life savers
who fought at Gallipoli, including a number of our pre-war life savers did not return.
This race and the additional programme set to coincide
with the cultural activities planned by the Turkish Government
will further the friendship between Turkey, Australia and New Zealand
whilst enabling those participating to pay their respects
to all who lost their lives so many years ago.
Tonight we had a very informative talk from Rob Turner
who will be taking a surfboat to Gallipoli as part of the commemorations.
His boat will be left with the people of Turkey as a gift.
We wish him and his crew all success and invited him to return
to tell us the final chapter in this great story.
